Hiya folks, glad you made it here to see what I’m up to. On Saturday, March 28, at 7:00am I’ll be participating in a 24 hour train-a-thon at the Way of Orient Martial Arts Academy in Ventura, CA. This smorgasbord of martial arts mini-seminars takes place to benefit Feed the Children, an international food relief non-profit organization. I’m hoping to raise more than $250 (the buy-in cost of the training camp) to help benefit this noble cause.
If you can contribute any amount to my effort, be it a dollar per hour or a flat donation of an amount you choose, it would be greatly appreciated by all parties involved. For more information please feel free to contact me, whether it be to sponsor me or participate in the workshop yourself. To email me, please use the Contact link on the right side of this page. Please help me help the children in less fortunate parts of the world.
To download the pledge sheet to help sponsor me, please click here.
To download the document describing the event, please click here.
So long as the checks are made out to Feed the Children and the memo line has: #6SEA00015 on it, the donation will be correctly allocated. You can mail your donation to:

I think I’m finally ready to get this blog up and running. Or, in this particular genre, kick it off! I’ve had the idea for a martial arts blog for a few years and had the framework in place for over 6 months. Just haven’t had the chi to do anything with it. With that in mind, you might be interested in what you’re gonna see here. In a nutshell, after years of on again off again participation in martial arts, its time for me to dedicate some serious thought to my martial arts passion. After trying my hand at Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Aikido and exploring the traditions and characteristics of several other arts I’m ready to commit myself to Hung Gar and Southern Praying Mantis as taught by my Sifu Manuel Rodriguez.
Why am I doing this? Because I love martial arts. From Eastern to Western, medieval to modern, the art of combat and the skill of passionate martial practitioners entertains and inspires me, and if I am that passionate about it, I’m betting some of you are as well. So why not share my journey, as I practice and pursue martial excellence.
Keep in mind, this is not just a physical endeavor for me. It’s a philosophical, intellectual and spiritual avocation. Also, who doesn’t like to kick butt and look good doing it! In the near future I’ll be bringing a video segment to the blog, just gotta get a few other projects off my plate. Check back soon!
